Welcome to the website of the United Benefice of Brailsford, Edlaston, Osmaston,
Shirley and Yeaveley - five churches working in close partnership, in the south
of the Derby Dales. There are a variety of services each Sunday and during
the week and you will be very welcome at any of them. Whether you
are looking for a church, wanting to get married or have your child
baptised or have questions about Christianity we hope this website
will answer your questions. If it doesn't please give us a call.

1914 – 1916 FIRST WORLD WAR CENTENARY COMMEMORATIONS

 

You are invited to attend Shirley Church on Sunday 18th May for the morning service when special thought will be given to those who gave their lives serving their Country in all Wars

 

After the Service we will sow some Poppy seeds in the Cemetery in preparation for marking the start of World War One in August 1914.

 

ALL WELCOME

 

8.45am to 9.15am                        Visual presentation with Tea / Coffee

 

9.15am to 10am                            Service and Poppy Seed Planting

 

 

 

 

 Church Wardens 'Sworn In' by Archdeacon

On Thursday 6th June our ten church wardens gathered at St. Mary's church, Marston on Dove for the annual visitation of the Archdeacon the Ven. Dr. Christopher Cunliffe.  They were sworn in during a service which celebrated the importance of our church wardens in the continuing mission and ministry of the church. Our wardens are (from L-R): Tony Taylor, Ray Jones, Kevin Needham, Jennifer Swabey, Jerry Haynes, Betty Harrison, Chris Morison, Gerald Parker, Philip Beetham and Simon Thompson. 

 Need to Borrow a Wheelchair?

We have been given a wheechair which is available for use at any of our church services or events.

If you would like to borrow it - please contact us at the church office giving at least 3 days notice if possible.
